Dj Jauche – Music Always Helps

Description

Oliver Marquardt has utilised many artistic aliases over the years, but it’s for the Berliner’s work as DJ Jauche that he’s undoubtedly best known. Here he dusts down the moniker and delivers his first 12″ for Flaneurecordings in over two years. Title track ‘Music Always Helps’ is as gently uplifting and emotive as you’d expect, with Marquardt adding blissful electronic motifs, starry stabs, dreamy chords and spoken word snippets to a percussion-rich deep house groove – cultured maximalism, basically. Over on side 2, the ‘Shaka Cosmic Funk’ remix of the same track is a warmer and, yes, funkier affair rich in mazy electric piano solos and tactile beats, while ‘Life is Beautiful (12″ Mix)’ is another beautiful, sonically detailed and club-ready deep house workout
