As the title makes clear, Househead London’s latest missive brings together artists and remixers from two cities long associated with house music culture: Chicago, the city where it all began, and Britain’s own metropolis, London. Sometime Qunatize Recordings and Nervous Records contributor Wez Whynt joins forces with Moresoul on side A’s ‘Feelin’, with Illinois producer Emmaculate delivering a breezy, sunny, melody-rich and percussively loose soulful house revision. Vocalist Nambi joins label regular Prefix One on flip-side ‘Grateful’, with remixer Glenn Underground (one of Chicago deep house’s finest exponents) blurring the boundaries between soulful house and organic, star-gazing disco – think duelling synth and piano solos, jazzy house beats and smooth bass guitar.
